Wtf is Coded Design?
When you choose to study Visual Communication at Danish School of Media and Journalism, you're choosing between three differnet directions. One of those is Coded Design.
Its a newly implemented version of Visual Communication, where the goal is to form a bridge between a designer and a developer. Read more here
That means I have skills in color, form, typography and other traditional design-aspects but at the same time also HTML, JavaScript, CSS, p5.js, 3D and many more.
My past life
I used to have a life as a full time Copenhagen restaurant-dude. I worked in two different latin-american restaurants as waiter, bartender, manager, dishwasher etc. It shaped me in a way I could never imagine.
I learned to communicate well under pressure, but also to be aware of my limits – and thereby plan for when it goes wrong. It also allowed me the privilige to work with people from all over the world, and learn about their food, culture and history.
Besides the opportunity to work, it also got me really interested in food. I never ever order takeaway or "easy" food. You'll always find me creating something in the kitchen. Whether its fileting a full fish to make ceviche, or extracting chlorophyll from chives to make a green oil, I'm always happy. I bake my own bread too.
The Navy
In 2022 i went through basic training (værnepligt) in the Royal Danish Navy. It was probaply amongst some of the hardest things i ever did. I learned a lot about myself, how I contribute to group-work and how I react under real extreme pressure.
Cats
Cats have always been a part of my life. I grew up with them, and always seem to find one on the street to pet. No matter how dirty. I like dogs too – just not as much as cats. There is something about them that's easy to love. They're independent. They do whatever they want. If they like you, it feels like you've been chosen.
